You’ve just found out there is a new guy/girl at Pin Oak who is from Austria! You want to try out your German with him/her, even though s/he speaks pretty good English. But to avoid embarrassment you decide to write yourself a script in German and practice what you are going to say beforehand so that you make a good impression.
How would you, IN COMPLETE SENTENCES, tell this new student the following information about yourself?
By the way, you can get creative; none of this has to be true. You can assume the identity of someone else, such as a sports figure, a politician or a movie star. But your German should be top-notch!
1. First, of course, give him or her a greeting before introducing yourself.
2. Now, be cool and state your name.
3. Next, inform this person where you are from.
4. Then, say where you actually live.
5. Give your age.
6. Go a little further by revealing your birthday.
7. Tell him or her what season your birthday is in.
8. For backup, in case the conversation lulls, prepare TWO sentences about the weather, then immediately and let him/her know if the weather is good or bad (in your opinion).
9. Finally, just in case s/he’s interested, with great pride, declare to your new friend TWO items that are in your backpack.
10. Bid this new Charger farewell.
